The Wits-Alive MSc (Med) in Vaccinology is a truly fantastic degree. The course work is challenging, but it is current, well-coordinated, and taught by local and international experts in the relevant fields. I think it generates a well-rounded and adept understanding of vaccinology and you will definitely gain enough insight into each aspect of the field to identify where you want to go with your career. The research topics are interesting and one gains good research experience as well. The networking opportunities with lecturers, industry leaders, and specialists, both globally and locally, are a massive advantage to having done this course, and you get to become part of the global vaccinology network which can lead to many further opportunities. I would definitely recommend this degree if you are interested in public health, infectious disease, vaccines, or just want to find a new way to make an impact in the world. I would also like to thank the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) for funding both my scholarship and research costs toward my MSc (Med) in Vaccinology degree.
